History and Philosophy of Biology Club

We are going to have monthly meetings to share and discuss our work, and recent publications that we find interesting. Anyone interested in historical and philosophical perspecives on biology should come! Papers are invited from all graduate students and post-docs: it is a great format for getting some constructive and informal feedback on an essay, PhD chapter or potential article.

The tentative plan is to have the meetings on the first Wednesday of the month. We will decide on the time that works best for all of us during the first meeting in semester Alef.

If you are interested in joining or coming, please contact me via email so I can add you to the mailing list.

Existentialist Philosophy and Literature Reading Group

I am contemplating starting a very informal reading group focusing on existentialist texts (broadly construed): Kirkegård, Camus, Sartre, Nietzsche, etc. We’ll meet monthly over wine, beer, or (God forbid) coffee, and philosophize.

Everyone is welcome: No need to be affiliated with the Cohn Institute.

If you are interested, please contact me via email.
